Bry enlightened me last night...

Apparently Maylee got SOMETHING from me after all....her sense of humor.

It takes a lot to make her laugh. She will smile with less effort, but a good laugh is few and far between.

Thanks Bry....Love you too.

Shark Bait

"I'm a shark. I bite you!"

The boys were playing in the kitchen while I was cooking. I didn't think anything of it when I heard these words behind me from Carter...until I felt....a BITE....on my bum! I screamed and jumped. It didn't hurt so much as it scared me. I think it scared him too. *laugh* We had a little lesson on "pretend" biting. Drew has that down pat for playing sharks and monsters...glad Carter learned this sooner than later and before he was a shark with Maylee! It was pretty funny. Silly kid.

Ten Months

Miss Maylee is ten months old and she thinks she is so big these days. I guess I need her to remind her that she is still little...and insanely cute...and needs to slow down..... We have had some big developments this month...but still no teeth!

Babbling with her tongue out...and just sticking her tongue out....and using her tongue to spit food out! She can say mamamama, dadadadada, and spit with her tongue out.

She is getting to be a little dare devil pulling to a stand. She let go once and fell straight backwards (thank goodness on the carpet). She thinks she is so big....and she looks so little and cute standing there with her little unsteady legs!

Learned to spit out food she doesn't want to eat. This started with just  few things, but now she spits almost anything out. *sigh* I am sure this is just a phase and she will grow out of it.

Loves to be dropped on her back on the bed. She giggles and kicks her legs like crazy!

Loves squash. Hates cottage cheese. Loves yogurt. Tolerates some table food. Loves her food to be warm.
Is working on the art of the pincer grasp and loves to practice with Cheerios, puffs, and broken up pieces of animal crackers.

Is finally getting the hang of sitting up on her own.

Still a mama's girl....she has it baaaad. She cherishes her mommy and me time at night when I sit on the floor with her while the boys are in bed.

Wakes up once during the night to eat, but usually sleeps about 12 hours at night (blessed child!). Naps twice a day.

Has to sleep with a blanket that has a bit of silky on it. Wrap it around her and stick the corner in her hand and she will snuggle in and suck her thumb....insanely cute!

Is quite the crawler. She really moves now and it is so stinkin cute!!!

Love love LOVES pediasure and practically jumps out of my arms when she sees me get it ready for Drew. He just HAS to have a sip before he gets it.

She loves her brothers. She loves to play with Drew and will crawl all over him, but she prefers to watch Carter...and not get too close. I think her face in these pictures of the boys kissing her pretty much sums it up!

Something special between these two -

Carter is warming up to Maylee, especially since he can help out more with her now.

She still smiles with her eyes...and oh those dimples!

Weight: 14 lbs 2 oz (last week at doc appt for her cold)

Love to Love

Love to surprise my hubby at work....

Love to see my boys being "best friends" - my heart just melted when they held hands all the way home from getting the mail.

Love my flowers that showed up on my porch in the afternoon (even though I almost killed them not knowing they were out there - whew)

Love my kids...especially when they all want to take a picture together. Look at all those blue eyes - be still my heart!

Love my mini lamp shades for my kitchen light and that my husband waited for them to be on sale and brought me three sets so I could pick the one I wanted! Love him....

Love when my boys are excited for dinner...they knew it was something special and were SO excited!

Love that we all had family dinner together on a Monday night...even if it started at 7:45 when Bry got home. A candle lit dinner made it even better. The boys were STOKED! 

Love the heart pizza that we bought that afternoon and baked at home. Even Drew ate two crusts and Maylee sucked on hers!

Love the glass block jello cut into hearts along with the fresh squeezed lemonade turned strawberry with Nestle's strawberry powder YUM...and even better, strawberries with fruit dip.

Didn't love the heart shaped cherry chip cake....oh well.

Love my Husband...my Andrew...my Carter...and my Maylee.

A Little Baker Business Update

I think I go through blogging spurts and have been a little lacking in that department as of late....so here is a little update on the life of my Baker family of five!

Carter LOVES to help with any chores, namely laundry, loading/unloading dishwasher, cooking, cleaning up....and recently started helping to feed Maylee and give her drinks!

The boys are earning a "special prize" by putting "diamonds" in their jar. I hear "pick a diamond?" too many times a day. *smile*

New rules for the house. The last one covers anything I missed. Drew has been back talking...Carter has been pinching. Enough said. Still working on perfecting the "time-out" thing.

New found love for making bows...now if only I had more time.

Resisted the urge to buy a brand new Kirby vacuum cleaning system even after they were here for four hours and lowered the price by $1,200.

Putting off potty training Carter even though he is showing SO many signs that he is ready.

Registering Drew for kindergarten - sigh.

Spent an hour on Sunday assembling and trying to remember how to fly a kite. Bry and I figured it out in the end, but alas not enough wind. Maylee was pretty tired of me running with her in the Moby wrap by the end - but the boys had a blast just running around the grass.

Growing Up...Too Fast

This morning while putting on my make-up Drew and I were talking about going to Kindergarten.....he responded with.....

I getting older.

I going to kindergarten.

I getting bigger and bigger. I older.

I looked over at him standing by me and he did look older...and bigger and for some reason this brought an ache to my heart and a bit of of a tear to my eye. He is getting bigger...and older...and is going to kindergarten this year. *sigh* Time goes by too fast.....remember to soak up moments. Not sure I am ready for all of this.
