Brave Boy

Drew had his second eye surgery today. We prepped him a little. We talked about going to the hospital to see the eye doctor. All was well except for some anxiety in the morning. We checked in and he played and played. Of course a phone call to Grammy was a must!

When it was time to go he sat in the little car cart with his monkey and off he went. The brought me back to him about an hour and a half later and I was given a very sleepy Andrew in my arms. He snuggled in and just rested. Minus the "hospital smell" all over his body and in his hair it was so sweet to snuggle and have just quiet time with him. I was expecting it to be rough coming out of the anesthesia with lots of tears, but not one tear was shed...not even when they took out his IV. He sat up, checked out what they were doing, and snuggled back into my arms.

He slept most of the way home and lounged on the couch. He had one bout of nausea, but a couple minutes ago he sat up and said to me "Feel good! All better!" So he must be feeling better....and good thing too because he has one cute pirate costume to wear this weekend!

Six Months

It is crazy to think that six months ago I felt like I had been hit by a truck and had just delivered my sweet 3 lb 11 oz baby girl who was sleeping in the NICU being cared for by some amazing nurses. What a blessing and joy Miss Maylee has been in our lives!



She started to roll from back to stomach about 5 1/2 months. She even performed for our home nurse that checks her development. It was the first time we actually saw her do it without any problems!

She is getting better at entertaining herself on the floor with toys.

She is still adored by her brothers. Carter so lovingly refers to her as "Mingy" since he can't say her name. Andrew plays SO well with his baby sister and is so sweet and gentle with her. I love watching them together!

She is starting to figure out how to get her knees up and under her and can push herself more up onto her hands rather than just lifting her head.

She still has not really laughed....but has started making really cute squeaky and cooing noises.

She still does not like the car, but it is hit and miss if she screams the whole time.

She started rice cereal and LOVES it. She gets so excited after the first couple bites. She squirms and smiles and her whole body is just filled with excitement about the whole situation.

She still screams....and screams...and screams....leaving me at a loss of how to make her happy. This mostly happens at night when it is time for her to go to bed. I just hold her and let her scream until she crashes. Poor baby.

No teeth yet, but she is showing signs of teething with lots of chewing on things, drooling, and biting her bottom lip (which is adorable!).

This is the little face I had up with me far too early one morning while I was working....good thing she was happy! Cute little bug!

I am not sure on her stats. Her doc is out of town until the beginning of November. According to our guessing she is around 23 inches and under 12 lbs. She still wears most of her 0-3 month clothes, except for jammies where she fits more comfortable in the 3-6 month size.

Double the Fun!

A couple weeks ago my mom's twin sister came to visit! We had dinner together (no kids except for the babies) and then spent Saturday in Sedona. It was so much fun! It is hard being away from my extended family in New York so we cherish the time we get to spend with them!

We ate at BJs and shared a couple pizzas......that pizza is the best! 

Aunt Julie was so cute holding my sweet baby Maylee.....it was hard for Grammy to share her time with Grammy #2. My kids were so cute and so excited to have two Grammys!

Shelley had the most amazing sandwich for lunch......french dip....delicious....so getting that if we eat there again.

We headed to Montezuma Castle to see the ruins there and it was amazing. The kids loved running around outside and we all just enjoyed spending time together. I love this shot of Poppie with his grandkids!

The boys were not too thrilled about standing up there. Drew was quite scared of falling and Carter ended up having a meltdown. Nice.

I love these love birds.

I am not sure there is quite anything as attractive as a man loving his daughter. Bryan just adores his little princess!

We were trying to get a nice picture, but Drew didn't want to sit next to me and Carter was trying to run away, all the while Maylee was trying to sleep. This was at a church built into a rock. It was pretty cool!

It was a long, exhausting, fun, and memory filled day. It was nice to get out of the heat for a while and for a change in scenery. I loved spending time with family and we are hoping to get out to New York to visit sometime in the next couple years! I am in desperate need of some more Moon Cookies from my Grandpa's bakery!

Bring on the Mush

Maylee started rice cereal. The doc wanted her on it sooner than later since preemies are more suseptable to being anemic and the extra iron in the cereal should help. So....we gave it a shot.

Here is getting ready....wondering what in the world was coming with the camera and video camera in her face. She is getting so big sitting in her little chair!

She more or less "sucked" it off the spoon, but hey - she ate it. She is supposed to have 1-2 teaspoons a day. So far so good. She spits some of it out, especially if it is too thick, but overall she does well.

A smile is always good after the mush!

She has an I love Daddy bib and an I love Mommy bib....Bry picked this one for her first mush meal!

Good Lookin' Family Man.....

Andrew asked where my flowers came from and I told him daddy got them for me....he responded with "Smart Daddy!" I couldn't have agreed more!

Our life has sure gotten a lot busier these last seven years, but I wouldn't have changed a thing. Our "alone time" is sparse, sleep is a little less deep, noise level higer, dishes multiplied, and the floor stickier....but I could not ask for a better Daddy, Teammate, Best Friend, and Husband. Bry is my constant.....my rock....my safe place.

I usually let Megan do all the posting, but I had a strong prompting that I needed get people involved in what is going on in our country. So I have created a new blog that I want to share with everyone. It is a political blog, with things that everyone should be aware of.
