Easter 2013

HAPPY EASTER from our little BAKER FAMILY!!!

I managed to snap a few pictures of the kids before church, but alas I was not ready for church on time so no pictures with the mom and dad. :)  They were so cute all dressed up in their Easter Sunday best! I am not sure it is possible to get all three kids looking and smiling naturally in the same picture, but they are stinkin cute nonetheless!!

We did some Easter crafts this months...painting with colored sweetened condensed milk....gluing marshmallows....glitter glue foam eggs.....

I think my favorite activity was the Resurrection cookies we made. Next year we will try the rolls since they seem to be more kid friendly.

True to Drew form he was up at 6:00 on Easter morning and entertained himself by playing in the bunny prints for an hour. Maylee was up at 7 and we held off a few minutes before they started in on their baskets. Carter woke up about 2 minutes in. He was STOKED about his basket! Maylee's hair is fantastic in the morning....she has some serious fuzzy hair! The bunny brought books, silly string, soda, chocolate bunnies, pool towels, and a little candy.

Thought I Better

Thought I better blog before things get too crazy around here...

In summary...

House hunting.
Sold our house.
In the process of buying our new home.
Bryan got shingles.
Blade on the blender broke off and make it's way through the smoothie and flew out the top of the blender. Crazy. Yes.
Drew has glasses and loves them. Hoping to start vision therapy soon.
Witnessed a car accident from pretty much the front row (luckily not too bad).
Maylee had her first skinned knee.
My birthday.
New PT.
Prepping for 3 year old photo shoot of the little Miss and Hailee.
Prepping outfits for family photo shoot.
Organizing painting plans for the new house.
Very little sleep.  (Drew wakes up at 5 just about every morning after which I put him on the couch and he sleeps a couple more hours. Maylee once woke me in the middle of the night to hand me a booger. Yuck. Crazy child.)

Here goes nothing!

Somtimes...

Sometimes.....life of a mommy is less than glamorous, especially when my better half is out of town. I. am. tired.

Once his car leaves the driveway and I know he is not going to be home for days my patience level immediately drops and my "miss you" level is higher than it should be for him just leaving the house. There are lots of deep breaths and trying to psychologically overcome my single- mom-ness for the few days he is gone, but I can feel it and the kids can feel it.


(This was written weeks ago when Bry was out of town for a family funeral I believe. Apparently I was overwhelmed a bit.....we all survived and I appreciate my husband just a little bit more every time he goes away. I just love that man.)

Happy Birthday to Me!

I feel so old. I think I look older the minute it struck midnight on the 7th. My last year in my 20s. Deep breath!

My poor husband had shingles still on my birthday and was not feeling very well.  Shell delivered donuts on my porch bright and early on my birthday and Bry and I were able to sneak away for dinner that night. On Sunday my sweet sisters took over and made a cake and we all celebrated together!

This year should be full of more fun and excitement with all the changes coming! New house, ward, and schools....and gulp, another kiddo in kindergarten. Here we go, ready or not!

From the Mouth of Ming

Maylee speaks very well. Her annunciation of words is amazing and she doesn't mispronounce words like hippopotamus like most 2 year old do...so when she says something cute I try to remember it.

Little Girls

 Just about 2 years passed and these little babies have turned into these little beauties! I love that they are so close in age and all now live so close together!!!

Valentine's Day

I have come to love Valentine's Day. I didn't get a picture of the many, many hearts that Shelley lovingly cut out with her cutter and Jules let me use her laminator for to preserve for the years to come...but they were all over the kitchen and sprinkled throughout the house. I love them! I know we need to show our loved ones we love them every day, but I personally love this special day for everyone to celebrate love together. In short, we had lots of hearts, school parties, "love bug" valentines, heart pizza, and heart brownies.  Love the loves in my life...even if I am stinking at taking pictures. :)

Budding Buds

These cute cousins just adore each other! Carter and Eli have been begging to have a sleepover for a LONG time. Some kids play well together and some kids play REALLY well together and Eli and Carter fall into the latter category. We had a mock sleepover a couple weeks ago. They had popcorn and watched Lorax and went to bed in the boys room. Amazingly enough they actually all fell asleep by about 9. Eli was picked up around 10 once he was good and asleep. They had SO much fun!

This past weekend we got to have Eli come and stay with us again. He stayed for 3 nights and they boys couldn't get enough of each other.  Carter and Eli played "car party" with matchbox cars, dipped rocks in cups of water to see them change colors, played with fake money, ate lots of snacks, watched Wall-E, played dress up, played at the park, colored, played Kinect, played soccer, and did lots and lots of laughing.  I don't think they fought once. A disagreement here and there, but they worked it out!  Drew played here and there and Maylee tried her hardest to play too...all in all it was a fun filled weekend!!! :)

In a Day of our Tiniest Person

Maylee lays down on the kitchen floor and moves her arms and legs, stands up and says "Look mom! I made a snow Maylee. Come on, make a snow mama!" So we did. And then proceeded to make snowballs and eat them.

Maylee helped me carry a sleeve of bagels in from the car. Walking in the walkway she says "I am big and strong and healthy and brave." So take note - you must be all 4 to carry bagels in the house!

Maylee plays well by herself...even if it is putting the boys clean underwear on her arm.

Maylee and Hailee are still such cute friends...and playdough makes playtime all the better!

 Maylee got croup for the first time in December. I was on my way to take her to the doctor and she had a coughing fit and couldn't catch her breath which resulted in her getting VERY lethargic and her eyes rolling back. I paniced, called the doc, and turned around to take her to the ER.  After some meds and some time she was MUCH better.

The boys were in bed and Maylee was enjoying her time to play before bed. She proceed to line up all of the beanie babies, but before putting each one down she had to give it a kiss and huggie. Adorable.
