Words

There are bad words and realllly bad words and words you didn't realize were bad words until they come out of your child's mouth. I never understood why my mom didn't want me saying certain words growing up - they weren't the "bad" words, but words she didnt like.....sucks, shut up, stupid, etc...

I now know why. I don't like those words either. They sound terrible coming from a little boy's mouth. Drew called me stupid in the car today.

I turned on the headlights which in turn dimmed the lighting to the movie they were watching. He said "Hey! I can't see!" I thought it was funny so I laughed....he responded with a "You supid". I shut that movie off as quick as I could and had a little chat with that cute little boy in the back seat. I don't think he really knew that it meant, but had heard it before, but goodness help that child - he better not say that again, especially to his mama!!

It is always interesting to see what words kids learn to use and surprising to me that they learn to use them correctly! Spencer and I are not all that strict on things Ryan says, as long as it isn't swearing. However, stupid is in the category of "bad" words, thankfully he doesn't really use it and even corrects me if I say it. I think the worst thing he said to me is telling me to shut up. We had a nice long talk after that one too. Thankfully, he does not use it often, but every once and awhile, he will say it if he really wants to get under my skin and test the waters! Hope Drew doesn't call you stupid ever again!

I burned my finger with the hot glue gun and said "ouch thats freaking hot!" That definitely didn't sound good coming out of my 2 year old nieces mouth! It sounded like she was saying the F word! That makes stupid seem not quite so bad!

A few weeks ago, if we do something that Katelynn doesn't like or agree with, she will tell whoever it is that did the thing she didn't like "You are annoyace!" meaning, you are annoying. She uses it correctly everytime. No idea where she picked it up from.
