Food Fights

Eating is a sensitive subject in our house...at least with me....well, maybe not sensitive as much as stressful, nerve wracking, exhausting, irritating, frustrating, and emotional. Child #1 was our first taste at feeding a toddler and child. We experienced sensory issues, food anxiety, and feeding issues. This molded me into a mom that does not force her children to eat and making sure there is something for everyone on the table....exhausting, yes. I now have three VERY picky eaters. I lose sleep over this, honest. This is what pizza looks like at my house. Left to right..Maylee - Carter - Andrew. No cheese to Maylee ( I will be luckly if she eats 3 bites), pepperoni for Carter (bless his heart) and just crust for Drew. And this is just PIZZA! Kids should like this, right? I need to make a change...but I am not sure how. It doesn't help when 2 out of my 3 kids have weight issues....sigh. One day I know I will look back on this and laugh, but for now my blood pressure pays!

Just imagine what  Thanksgiving looks like at my house.....comical.

Charlotte can be picky too. When I list off stuff she wants to eat it sounds awful... corndog, dino nuggets, pb & honey, pb & jelly, quesadilla, turkey sandwich, salami, pancakes or pizza. Healthy right? I used to make her a healthy "chocolate milk" in the morning but that's gone. I'm just glad she eats half the time. Then there are the rare occasions where she eats off of me and it's like tacos with pico de gallo, avocado, lettuce and sour cream mixed with taco seasoning. She's so random some days. I hope Jackson is different but I'll probably just do the same making multiple dinners :)

Wow, Megan. That really is hard. I would be losing sleep too. Isaac just as a few mild allergies and I get stressed out. I hope that prayers will help you make it through!

Oh my goodness! You are a nicer mom than I am! I only make something different for my kids on nights where the food I cooked may be a bit spicy. I know my kids would LOVE to live at your house where the mommy is a lot more nice and sensitive to food likes and dislikes! I know I wouldn't be able to be the way I am though if there were sensory issues involved, you are such a great mommy to have so much patience! (Thank goodness the only sensory issues in this house are my own!)
