Eleven months….there is no stinkin’ way that it has been eleven months since this little Carter Monster was born…really???? How in the world does time go by so fast – it is just not fair!!!! This is my last “month” post for this little man since he turns one year next month!!! I can hardly believe it. We have so enjoyed having this little miracle baby in our family and lighting up our lives. He is at such a fun age and makes us laugh every day. I mean really….how can you look at that face and not smile!!!
I started this blog post last month to try and document the happenings of Carter without forgetting…a couple weeks ago I had written “Carter has officially started sleeping all the way through the night without getting up to nurse at all! He usually would wake up around 3-5 for a couple minutes for a little nap, but not anymore. He sleeps straight though until morning. He doesn’t sleep quite as late as he used to, but hey – uninterrupted sleep sounds good to me!” Well, since I had written that we had a relapse. We had family in town and his schedule got messed up and it was back to one night feeding. I am happy to say in the past couple days he is back on track with no more night waking….but he does get up around 6:45 every morning, which does not make for a lazy, sleeping in Saturday morning! Good thing he is so cutie cute!
No new teeth this month. I think that is a first in a while. We are still at a grand total of seven, but I do believe two more are thinking about working their way in.
Carter eats like a champ. He is officially able to eat table food and I hardly have to give him baby food anymore. He loves cheese, cottage cheese, quesadillas, grapes, mango, pizza, bananas, yogurt, crackers, and water in a straw sippy!
Weaning from nursing starts in a month. I can’t believe we have done almost a solid year of all nursing with no formula and no bottles. Woo hoo! I don’t know what I am going to do with myself when he is able to survive (nutritionally wise) without me. I sense a whole new world of date nights and babysitting in the future!
He is pulling to a stand like a mad man and has started climbing. Oooh the climbing. I am not sure I am ready for that part. He is starting to let go with both hands when standing, but not very often or for very long, but he will be walking soon enough. I am not one to push these things. I figure he will roll/crawl/walk eventually and once he starts there is no stopping him!!
If Aunt Shelley is around you can almost always be sure that Carter is somewhere in her vicinity. I think it is safe to say she adores this child…and I do believe the feeling is mutual. Please note the scrunchy face he is doing….he does this all the time, especially for the camera! Silly boy!
We love you Carter Cakes!!!!
