5 Months Young

Little Miss Maylee turned 5 months on the 15th. The little peanut is growing and changing like crazy. I feel like she has been so little for so long, but I am still not ready for her to get bigger. We are loving seeing her little personality emerge.

She is such a smiley little thing, especially when she first wakes up from a good nap or in the morning. It is so stinkin cute!

She is not quite laughing yet, but she lets out these funny little grunts when you tickle her. I am sure a little giggle is not too far off!

She can roll from her tummy to her back a bit better, but not super great. She mostly does it when she is sleeping. She can't quite get from her back to stomach, but it showing signs of getting there. She can get from her side to her tummy though.

She is SUCH a mover in her bed. I lay her down one way and she completely moves 180° the other way. Silly little girl.

She loves her thumb and fingers. They are always in her mouth. Hey - if she is not going to take a paci and it keeps her happy, then I am all for it - for now!

She is really responding to her surroundings. She loves to look at brightly colored things and really likes the TV. I think we have another Andrew on our hands with that....I have to make sure she is not facing the TV too much when it is on.

She wore her bathing suit for the first time....didn't get in the pool, but looked adorable.

She is enjoying her baths more and takes one almost every night with her brothers. It is so cute and quite fun to bathe them all at the same time. She is happy as long as she doesn't get splashed!

She is officially out of all newborn clothes and into her 0-3 months. I have a feeling she will be moving on up to 3-6 months before we know it.

I discovered a new place to dolly up this little princess. The new "thing" out here are bands and flowers to the feet! Like sandals with no soles...they are pretty much headbands for their feet. Shell and I are looking forward to getting to the ribbon store and whipping up a couple pairs of these little beauties. The original ones go for $25 a pair.....riiiiiiight! We will make our own, thank you very much!

She had her first and second hair cuts. The first trimmed things up and I used the clippers to help with things again. Good thing for cute bows and flowers until she gets a nice head of hair!

We have found she continues to get easier day by day. Naps are still sporadic and not quite scheduled, but she is less fussy - WAY less fussy than she used to be. She can make noises other than screaming which is nice so she doesn't go from quiet to crazy screaming child. She can coo oh so cute and even can fuss without screaming.

We had her five month check where she just got weighed and shots. We were instructed to start her on rice cereal 1 tablespoon twice a day to help with her iron. We will see how that goes.  But she is growing well and going great. She gained about a pound over the last month - yee haw!
