A couple weekend ago we set out to California for a little vacation from this heat and to see Sarah at her wedding reception! We had so much fun with lots of excitement. Long story short - we won't be taking any more long road trips until Maylee is older. She has quite the set of lungs.
I picked up Bry from the airport since he was just getting back from a business trip and we haded out around 6:00 PM on Thursday. We got in late late late, but were ready to have some fun on Friday. It was so fun to stay with my mom and dad. It is a must to take the boys to visit Poppie at work - they love all the big trucks!
Afterwards we had naps and of course went swimming.
Maylee LOVED being outside and not melting. She was just so cute with her daddy. I love those dimples!
Drew was SO cold, but was bound and determined to go down the slide all by himself. I stood behind him while he climbed his shaky body up the ladder. He needed a little push, but did great going down the slide. He did it about three times and loved it!
Our swim was followed by a fabulous dinner at BJs - YUM! They really have the best pizza. I love the BBQ chicken pizza.
Maylee was tired and we took turns walking her until she finally fell asleep. Sweet baby.
Drew loves his ketchup and fries!
There is something to be said about real donuts. We get them every time we go to Cali. They are divine. I have discovered how amazing the donut holes are this time around! They have the perfect cake to glaze to sprinkle ratio. I think I put on two pounds from these donuts.....oh well - they were worth it!
On Saturday we headed to the zoo with Jess and Tami. We had so much fun. We went to the Santa Barbara zoo so it was right by the beach and we had a night breeze the whole time! Before we left I had Maylee all dressed in her adorable outfit only to realize she had pooped out her diaper, down my arm, and onto my shoe while walking to the car. That delayed out trip about 10 minutes. I guess I am glad she did it before we left rather than in the car or at the zoo!
Drew decided the elephants were "nasty" and refused to go see them right from the get go. He warmed up to them after a while. He is such a silly kid.
This baby giraffe was adorable. I missed seeing him get a drink of water, but my mom caught a ton of pictures of him - thanks Mom!
Sweet Maylee slept almost the entire time in the Moby wrap. She was snug as a bug.
Andrew was most thrilled about the "Lion King". That is what he talked about for days afterwards. The daddy lion just slept, but the mommy climbed up onto her rock for us. It was pretty cool.
Oh man....this is a quick glimpse into the royal fit Andrew threw when he didn't want to get back into the stroller. WOW
The aftermath....
And of course the main reason we went was to see the new and oh so beautiful Mrs. Sarah Monson!
Bry, Maylee and I were able to sneak in a little visit with Grandma Dianna and Grandpa before heading back to my parents house for the night. Maylee was a bit tired, but such a trooper. We had such a fun time and it was so nice to see everyone!

Such cute pictures. Also, I think your mother is one of those human beings who, no matter how old they get, they look the same. She looks so good as always.
Love the sleeping pictures. All worn out! :)
That picture of Maylee in the sun is just so stinkin adorable. She is just loving it to no end, that sweet little girl!
