July means summer is in full swing and it is H-O-T. We have been swimming tons, made trips to the library and I have tried to be fun mom, but in truth I am one tired, pregnant mama. Apparently the dogs like to guard my when I am trying to nap.
We went to a school field to watch the fireworks show put on my a local church down in Gilbert. It is hard to entertain three busy bodies while waiting for the sky to get dark enough for the show to start at 9:00. We played with a blow up ball and glow necklaces while eating shaved ice and ring pops. Come to find out...fireworks are only exciting for tired children for the first 5 minutes....25 minutes get to be a little long and exhausting. We did it and we survived. Fourth of July - check.
After a year of trying to keep this lawn green we have thrown in the towel until we have afford to put down some fake grass. Bryan labored for over a week killing the grass, removing the brick line, covering the grass with black tarp and then hauling rock from the side of the yard to the front. I helped...a little...in removing the brick line, but nothing in comparison to what my man did. It looks great now, just rock with no dead grass!
We didn't get to celebrate Bryan's birthday in June because I was sick with the stomach flu the days prior and then we left on a family vacation the day of. So.....cake was delayed, but well worth it!!! Chocolate decadent cake with peanut butter, chocolate, and marshmallow chocolate drizzle. He liked it, but then again what is not to like with that kind of cake! Happy 33rd birthday my love!
Amid our lazy summer days the kids like to take pictures of one another and Carter loved to have "3 mohawks"
Carter did get to go to a cupcake decorating class waaaaaay out in San Tan Valley. His Baker cousins joined (Eli, Emma, and Haley) and they had a blast. I tell ya - this kid loves to cook and bake!
