Three Days Old

Maylee has had a great day. We started bottle feeding this morning and she has taken to it wonderfully. I did a feeding with her at 6:00 am, 9:00 am, and again at 12. She did great for the first two and took all 10 cc she could have. She was a bit more tired by 12 and when Bry tried at 3 she was again pretty tired and only took 1-2 cc and the rest went into her feeding tube.

This is all good news since as she is able to eat more through a bottle and even the feeding tube her IV fluids will go down and her weight should go up. She weighed in at 3 lbs 3 oz this morning, but we are hopeful her weight should increase soon.

She is still as fiesty as ever and is such a cute girl! Last night her IV in her hand was leaking and her arm was totally swollen. It looked like she actually had a chubby arm. We worked on getting the swelling down and her IV is now in her leg. She just kicks and squirms so much that the IV is a stinker to keep in! It has been so funny since we had to elevate her arm so much she seems to like to stick it in the air all the time...as if she is saying - look at my arm, it is all better!

Grammy came to visit this morning and got to hold Maylee. It was so wonderful. I know Maylee already loves her Grammy.

Tonight we had more visitors and Shell was able to time it around a "care" time and was able to hold the little princess.

We continue to be so grateful for our little miracle. We pray for her to continue to do well. We have been so blessed with wonderful nurses and such love and support from so many. I will try and keep things updated with Maylee's progress. We look forward to bringing her home when she is ready. I will be going home tomorrow morning...which is a whole nother adventure. Life is full of surprises and I am so grateful for all I have been given.
