7 Months

Carter is now 7 months – way to grow little man! He turned 7 months on Monday!!! He went in for shots today and weighed in at 17.4 lbs. He is my little chunky monkey! He was a champ and only cried for a second with his shots. He is such a well tempered child.

New vocab by Bryan::

Mushelmash: far beyond squishing due to the extreme cuteness in a baby. i.e. “You need to be mushelmashed because you are so cute!”

In the past month Carter has changed so much – here are some highlights!

• Can sit up on his own and is getting really good at the tripod sit when reaching for toys.

• Got his first two teeth.

• Started baby food and has not been too picky thus far. My goal this month is to start making my own baby food – hopefully it goes well!

• Learning how to drink out of a big cup – what a champ! I am hoping to skip the bottle and sippy cup all together.
• He cries when toys are taken away.
• He does this thing when on his belly where he lifts his head up and puts his arms out and up and his legs up and it looks like he is a beached whale. He does it all the time and it is so funny!

• Can get up on his hands and knees as of the evening of 12/07/08!!!  (This is the best I could get – he was not being very cooperative!)

• Still does not suck on a pacifier, but loves to chew on them.
• Is getting on a pretty good schedule since Andrew started school with waking up between 7 and 7:30, nap at 9 or 9:30 and nap at 1 or so. He likes to take an evening nap as well, but I am trying to discourage it so he goes to bed around 7:30 or 8.

• Starting to become a mama’s boy. He likes to keep his eye on me and lets me know when he wants to be held. Sweet boy!
• He still thinks his big brother is the greatest thing ever – Andrew can really get him laughing and it is the cutest thing!!!
• Started saying “babababa” which is just about the most adorable thing ever.
