One Year Older

Happy birthday to the man who puts that extra skip in my step!

This year my wonderful husband celebrated this 29th birthday!!! He is not so happy about getting so close to the big 3-0, but I think the older he gets the sexier he gets! (I know, I know - too much information).

It was a busy weekend filled with working and cleaning on my end, but we were so glad we got to out to dinner and do a little shopping for him on Saturday night just the two of us....plus Maylee. We enjoyed a yummy dinner at the Cheesecake Factory and then made a trip to Kohls and of course Walmart.

Sunday we had tacos complete with crock pot roast taco meat per Bry's request and enjoyed celebrating with Julia and the gang. This year's cake was of course chocolate and peanut butter - and was quite fun to make if I do say so myself.

FYI - I have learned you can't use off-brand label of certain things....like flour which I learned years ago and now shortening. I learned this the hard way when my icing came out tasting a bit funny. Oh well - it was still good cake.

Carter is a BIG fan of cake and could not wait to get his paws into a piece.

He was SO covered and since the cousins were still here playing and a bath would be too much effort he ended up in the sink. Everyone thought it was pretty funny and he had a blast!

I also realized I failed to make a post about the amazing father my husband is. Father's Day weekend was quite crazy with my brother's wedding, but let me tell you - Bryan is a one in a million dad. He can read books complete with appropriate voices like no other. He is the best at "rollie pollie ollie" which is a favorite of our boys (where they lay down on the floor and Bryan holds them on his chest and proceed to roll across the floor with them in his arms - the giggling is unreal). He is a great teacher, friend, example, and foundation. I love him dearly and I know our children adore their daddy.
