Eight Months

DSCN0371

January 8th Carter turned eight months. He has made this transition to being not so little anymore – I look at him and he is getting SO big, but oh so cute!!!! He is developing a little personality and has opinions about things now. He is still such a wonderful baby and we love him so much!

  • Celebrated first Christmas and New Years!…he even woke up in time to ring in 2009!! DSCN0084

  • Still not crawling, but I’m not complaining. DSCN0324
  • Can roll like a maniac. He sure can get around rolling and turning around on his tummy.  He does this weird thing on his tummy instead of crawling where he straightens out his legs. It makes me laugh!DSCN0330
  • Has become rather attached to his mommy. Bry says he needs two things in his sight to be happy, his mommy and a remote. The child loves remotes and anything of that sort!!!DSCN0219 DSCN0299
  • Is doing really well at learning to fall asleep on his own. He still falls asleep nursing a lot and I do enjoy rocking with him, but sometimes he is just too happy and busy or is fighting it that I have to put him in his bed. He mostly doesn’t cry, just plays a bit and then falls asleep. Sweet baby.

  • Ooooh the biter biscuit. He cannot eat solid things like cheerios yet because he gags like no other, but he LOVES the biter biscuits, but man those things are messy!DSCN0355 DSCN0358 DSCN0361
  • His top teeth are on their way in. He has not been too cranky or out of sorts. I sure would be if I had sharp teeth cutting through my sensitive gums!! What a trooper!
  • Possible allergy to carrots. He has been getting some dry, red spots around his mouth and on his cheeks. I started over with baby food to see if I could narrow it down to something causing it. I believe carrots are the culprit, but we will have to see.

I wish I could freeze time and keep my kids at the ages they are, but I know I can’t so I will just keep taking pictures and cherishing the moments I get to spend with them every day!

Katelynn and Carter are SO much alike! She loves the biter biscuits too! I guess it's cause their only 4 days apart! We really need to get them a play date!

Oh he is just too cute~ my goodness! Do you have a really nice camera? You seem to get so many nice clear shots. As for the gagging- Andrew gagged on EVERYTHING. Give him food that will encourage the gagging (odd sounding, I know) and the reflex will work itself out. I gave Andrew pretzel rods and long celery sticks. Within a month he was ready for solids. Good luck!
What a sweet baby!

I can't believe it! Both of your kids are getting so big. When you moved here they were so little. Time goes by way too fast. I am sad that you are moving into another ward!

Be grateful for him not crawling! Once that starts, there is no hope keeping everything he shouldnt have away from him! I think I am a bit jealous of this one, Ryan was walking at 8 months! I have a hard time understanding the fascination with the remotes and phones...we got Ry a toy cell phone and gave him our old (cleaned) cell phones, but he still wants our current ones! I totally thought the old cell phones would do the trick, I was wrong! We did find a toy remote that he does love though, but he also still loves the real one! Good luck keeping those away from him, it seems like it never happens around here! I love this kids eyes!!!
