The Culprit
The Cure
I have been so spoiled with Carter. Not once have I had to really calm, rock, or walk him during the night. He whimpers a little when he is awake and hungry – I feed him and he goes back to sleep no problem. Well, that was not the case last night. He woke up around 10:30 and I just figured he wanted to eat. He was squirmy and quite awake. I just ignored him and hoped he would fall asleep next to me. Nope….he played with my face a bit, tried to play with Bry and then started to get fussy (not like him at all), so we rocked and he went to sleep. I laid him down – awake again. We walked and bounced and he went to sleep. I laid him down – awake again. Poor baby just was not happy. I we went to the couch. I tried feeding, Bubble Be Gone, Tylenol….nothing was working. It seemed like he as having reflux. He would try to go to sleep and then it would come in his throat again, he would swallow, and then cry. I felt so bad. Then I remembered the tablets!!!! Two tablets and in ten minutes he was out! He slept from 1:30 until 8:30 without a peep. I am not sure what I ate or what happened that caused this reflux, but my only guess is the delicious homemade cookies or the quite spicy grilled chicken sandwich…hmmm….I avoided both at all costs today!
Come to find out after taking Andrew and Carter to the doc this afternoon because they have had colds for almost a week now…that they both have a left ear infection. Go figure. I had no idea – great, two boys that give me no inclination that they have an ear infection. I just have to play it safe and take them in….I know their doctor’s office far too well. I am so done with sick season, but so not ready for the heat of summer!

Poor little guys! I feel for you with the ear infections! I think Ryan may have had his for a few weeks before we first found out. Hopefully only 1 round of antibiotics will work for you! I know how you feel now about not questioning whether or not to take them to the Dr. (Heather)
ooh those cookies look too good...maybe I'll make some today =) And you're good to take the kids to the dr...it just seems like so much work for me unless I absolutely think i should. It seemed like my kids were sick for a month...couldnt' take Hallie to nursery for way too long, but now they're all good and the sun in starting to shine! I'm ready for the heat for sure!
