Puttin the Happy in Halloween

I am not a big fan of Halloween, but as my kids get older I am starting to realize there is some fun to be had with all this pumpkin and candy shenanigans!

We made some shaving cream pumpkins...

Followed by some silly footprint ghosts....

And of course the costumes! This is the first look the boys had at themselves. Drew was such a trooper with having surgery the day before. He even kept his eye patch on the whole time!

Drew was saying "Arrrrrrrgggggg"

Carter was pretty good at the "arg" as well, but this smile does not make for a very intimidating pirate! Sure is cute though!!!

Hailee and Maylee were just about the cutest Thing 1 and 2 I have ever seen! We made their costumes and I have to say they turned out pretty darn cute!!!!! Here they are holding hands.....BFF!

Maylee's favorite part was the tutu. She ate it all night long.

Lookin like her daddy.....well, her eyes and eyebrows at least. I guess this is what he would look like with sparkling blue hair!

I am so in love with these leg warmer things. They were so easy to make and so stinkin cute on! Look at that chub around her neck!

And of course....the baby toes, painted red...with a tutu....adorable.

We went to our church trunk or treat on Friday night and had a blast. They had hot dogs and chili. Of course my boys only ate chips and Bry and I passed on the hot dogs (sniff sniff.....darn healthy eating diet!) The boys had a lot of fun getting candy. Carter caught on quickly and even got a bonus candy from one stop since he said "thank you" so enthusiastically! He was honestly so surprised and excited each time he said "trick or treat" and ended up with candy!

Saturday Bry drove to Cali for the USC game so the Potter family and me and the boys headed to our old neighborhood to trick or treat. Drew was scared to death by a fog machine while Shell and I got pretty freaked out by a guy with a white pillowcase over his head with eyes cut out who just stood there and watched us walk by...turning his head....creepy!

All in all it was a fun Halloween......considering I am not a super huge fan of holidays about scary and gross things. I am excited for next years Halloween...I am feeling a family theme in the making!

I love the Thing costumes. For me, Halloween is all about the cute kids in costumes. I don't go for spooky or gross either.
